Blog 3: Revise the Diagnostic

The passage "HYPE" by Kalle Lasn indicated that advertisements are increasing so quickly from day by day. However, they have a disadvantage is that commercial contamination seems rubbishes which bristle people’s brains with uncountable commercials. They appear almost everywhere in our living environment after added new places (including buses, billboards, stadiums). They spread out by TV, radio, posters, newspapers, network, and etc. For instance, you will see the ads on the nozzle when you fill your car with gas; Children watch Pepsi and Snickers ads in the classroom; Also, you might see ads from a company called VideoCarte while you shop in the supermarket. I strongly agree with the idea that the author had mentioned is commercials are such trashes in people's mind, because I feel it represents the significance that they usually hide the truth (bad consequences) for inducing people to consume with their products or services. Actually, most of the products or services people purchased are different from the commercials had shown and described. There are two experiences from me and my friend who had suffered the same problem.

Some of skin care products are useless, but in their ads, they have been exaggerated. For instance, my friend, Elaine, who bought many skin care brands after watched their ads from TV, such as Chanel, La Prairie, DIOR, Lancôme, and Clinique. Those ads show that women’s skin are getting better and look younger than before. Certainly, Elaine trusted them and tried one by one. However, her skin still looked same as before. Finally, she went to dermatologist to figure out which skin care products for her are valid, and ignored to buy the any of skin care products from ads.

Unfortunately, I experienced the same problem too. I watched several commercials of hair products which described how those shampoos and conditions are efficient and fantastic. For example, their models’ hair are no longer with dandruff, also they look bright and touch as smooth as silk after used those products which are Pantene, Dove, Head & Shoulders, TRESemme, and etc. Of course, the result is not the same as they showed on commercials because I’ve never gotten rid of dandruff from my hair, and still dryness. From now on, I’m never going to trust any of the promotions from commercials.

Obviously, advertisements are trustless and footle on the basis of the experiences above. They are irresponsible for the products which had promoted. To encourage people to expend their money on the products by concealing the truth and overstate the results are the selling method from the manufacturers. So, don’t be cheated from them! Although, we are unable to prevent those ads’ arises, but we can choose to trust or not. I think it’s the only way to avoid from wasting our money on the worthless products.
